Tero Ojanperä

Tero Ojanperä co-founded Silo AI, the Nordics’ largest private AI lab, and led it first as CEO and subsequently as Executive Chairman until its acquisition by AMD in August 2024 — one of Europe’s largest AI transactions of the decade.
Founded in 2017, the company specialized in machine learning, computer vision, generative AI and open source AI models enabling enterprises to transform complex business challenges into strategic advantages through AI. Tero serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of Aalto University and Miltton as well as a board member of OP Pohjola Financial Group. Previously, Tero held senior leadership roles at Nokia, including CTO, Chief Strategy Officer, and Head of Research, serving on Nokia’s Group Executive Board for seven years. He also co-founded the Visionplus Venture Fund.
Throughout his career, he has served on a broad portfolio of boards across technology, defense, consumer, infrastructure, and research-driven sectors—including Bittium, NAVTEQ, Betolar, Halon, CeLLife Technologies, Finntraffic, Siili Solutions, DNA, Veikkaus, and Tampere University of Technology.
His executive expertise spans AI, digital transformation, IPR/patents, technology leadership, strategy, innovation, IPOs, and M&A. Tero is a Young Global Leader with the World Economic Forum and holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Delft University of Technology.
