Matti Hölttä

Matti is a Senior Data & ML Engineer at NGP Capital, working on advancing the firm’s AI-powered deal flow engine, “Q,” to new heights.

A strong data generalist with a decade of experience across various data roles, he brings a practical, hands-on approach to applying data and AI in venture capital.

Before joining NGP Capital, Matti spent four years at Solita as a Senior ML Engineer, helping companies harness data, machine learning, and AI to create business value. His career path started in finance as an auditor at PwC, giving him a broader perspective than the average tech professional. He is a firm believer in continuous, incremental improvements and is always looking for ways to refine and enhance both processes and technology.

Matti holds an M.Sc. in Accounting and Finance from Aalto University School of Business and has also studied Data Science, Machine Learning, and AI at Aalto University School of Science. Outside of work, you can often find him at a bouldering gym in the Helsinki area or cross-country skiing—weather permitting.
